There’s been a debate going around about whether Bruno Mars’ music warrants claims of cultural appropriation. It’s one that gained steam, but is now fizzling out.

Stevie Wonder is now weighing in. TMZ recently caught up with the musical legend and asked him what he thought. His response was thoughtful, and honestly, unsurprising.

"God created music for everyone to enjoy, so we cannot limit ourselves by people's fears and insecurities. He's a great talent," Wonder explained. "That other stuff is just bullshit."

Originally, writer and Youtuber Seren Sensei sparked the debate over Mars’ usage of Black-rooted music in his work, but others are pointing out that the pop star has always acknowledged where he receives his inspiration.

"When you say 'black music,' understand that you are talking about rock, jazz, R&B, reggae, funk, doo-wop, hip-hop, and Motown. Black people created it all. So, in my world, black music means everything," he told Latina.

That sentiment was also echoed by Stevie Wonder. "He was inspired by great musicians and great artists, so that's good," he said in conclusion.
