Despite Kanye West becoming a vocal supporter of Donald Trump in recent months, infamously saying if he had voted he would have cast his ballot for the Republican nominee, it appears as though he will be completely missing out on the welcoming concert organized in conjunction with the inauguration. In fact, he wasn't even asked to participate.

As reported, a spokesperson for the president-elect shared the reason why Ye wasn't approached to perform, despite his budding friendship with Trump.

According to Tom Barrack, the chairman of the Presidential Inauguration Committee, such an event wasn't "fitting" for West.

"He's been great, he considers himself a friend of the president-elect, but it's not the [right] venue," Barrack shared with CNN.

"It's going to be typically and traditionally American, and Kanye is a great guy, we just haven't asked him to perform. And we move on with our agenda," Barrack elaborated. 

While his statement has several implied meanings that can be interpreted in a variety of ways, it is interesting that West wasn't even considered to join the festivities, especially considering his recent sit-down with the president-elect.

Perhaps his last inaugural performance, where he performed in honor of Obama back in 2009, was simply too lit for Trump's tastes.
