Fashion's Night Out, the shopping initiative driven by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, will return for the third year, just in time for New York Fashion Week next month. Only this time around the event will be bigger, extending to 250 U.S. cities!

The festivities kick off on September 8 and New York remains the center of the exciting one-night frenzy of shopping meets party-hopping as major retailers invite consumers to enjoy a glamorous night of discounts, celebrities, style experts, music and refreshments. If you’re in the city get ready to brave huge crowds (the streets feel like a chaotic, fashionable mash-up of Halloween and New Year’s Eve), and be sure to check out the official listing of events to chart your course. We’re looking forward to popping into destinations like Macy’s Herald Square where Rachel Roy and Amar’e Stoudemire will be among the designers and Kelly Rowland will join a live performance lineup.  

There’s still plenty of fun to be had for fashionistas who live in other states (click here to search for events in your state). Stylists will be at select Nordstrom stores, and Neiman Marcus has special events planned at more than two dozen locations, for instance. Or take it all in from home: Shopbop.com is streaming footage of its fashion gurus visiting stores, and QVC plans a live broadcast, including a fashion show and other e-tailers will offer discounts.
