Ne-Yo Celebrates Fourth of July with Troops

The singer performed a free concert for an army base in Brooklyn.

On Saturday, Ne-Yo chose to celebrate Independence Day with those who put their lives at risk to fight for our freedom out on the field. The R&B crooner treated US military troops and their families to a free concert at an army base in Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn. He met with the troops and other first responders and delivered a show that included hits like "So Sick," "Miss Independent," "Can We Chill," and "One in a Million."

"Well it's something that we were trying to put together for a little while," Ne-Yo explained during a press conference. "Just a way for me to show my appreciation for what it is that the troops do. I'm out here supporting the people who support me, and my free way of life. I'm happy to be here."

After his performance, he had a few words of encouragement for his brave audience. "Just keep your heads up, and know that people back here at home are missing you everyday and praying for you everyday...hurry up and come on back."
