50 Cent: Beef With Floyd Mayweather Was Faked
50 Cent caused a stir last week when he declared that his boxing promotions business with Floyd Mayweather Jr. was over. Earlier this morning, however, the G-Unit rapper admitted that the story was made up. In a post to his Twitter account (which has eight million followers) Fif revealed that the supposed dissolution of his relationship with Mayweather was all a publicity stunt.
"I'm sick of all this nonsense Floyd asked me to act like were [sic] fighting cause no one was paying any attention after his 60 days," 50 wrote, referring to Mayweather's stint in prison for domestic violence.
50 said Mayweather is "like a brother" to him and claimed he went along with the stunt as a favor to the undefeated boxer. In his initial tweet, however, Fif disparaged Mayweather as not living up to his financial obligations to their company, TMT Promotions.
"I move the fighters to SMSpromotion cause the other half of the money team didn't put up there [sic] $MONEY$," he wrote.
Mayweather fueled the reports of a feud by sending a slew of his own mocking tweets in 50's direction.
