B.B. King Public Viewing to be Held in Las Vegas
Fans will be able to pay final respects to B.B. King at a Las Vegas viewing Friday, reports the Associated Press. The 89-year-old blues legend, who died in his sleep last Thursday, will also be mourned at a private service in Vegas, followed by a burial in his home state of Mississippi.
The public viewing is scheduled from 3 to 7 p.m. at Palm Mortuary West, King’s manager, LaVerne Toney confirmed. Per mortuary manager Mathew Phillips, King’s body will be displayed in an open casket, although a public memorial service won’t be held.
A larger Palm Mortuary chapel will host King’s private funeral on Saturday at 11 a.m., while arrangements for the Indianola, Miss. burial are still in the works.
Claudette King, one of the musician's 11 children, shared funeral info via Facebook over the weekend and thanked everyone for their “well-wishes.”
