Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre Talk New Gin & Juice Cocktail Line

In a candid conversation with Big Boy, the hip-hop legends reflect on their enduring friendship, business ventures, and how their iconic hit "Gin & Juice" inspired their new ready-to-drink cocktail line.

In a recent interview with Big Boy, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre opened up about their latest collaboration, Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop, a gin-based ready-to-drink cocktail from their new premium spirits brand. Three decades after their iconic hit single "Gin & Juice" left a lasting imprint on pop culture and cemented their status as hip-hop legends, the duo is bringing their signature vibe to the spirits industry with this exciting new venture.

The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper explained that the timing felt right for him and Dre to finally go into business together. “Look where we at in our career. Look at our age, look at what we done and we still love each other. Why not do something together?” Snoop said, reflecting on their enduring friendship. He added, “A lot of times people been in relationships for 30 years, can’t talk, can’t hang out, can’t go visit. We actually love each other, so why not do something together? I’m doing great business, he doing great business. Let’s stop and do some business together. What’s wrong with that?”

Dr. Dre echoed Snoop’s sentiments, saying, “I think Snoop said it best: we’re better together, you know? I can’t go on stage without Snoop and be serious about what I’m doing… Us together is always magic… It’s certain things that happen when we’re together.”

The cocktail line, inspired by Snoop's Grammy-nominated 1994 hit "Gin & Juice," features four flavors: Citrus, Melon, Passionfruit, and Apricot. Snoop reminisced about the origins of the drink, sharing that it came out of their studio sessions, where gin was a constant companion. “That’s all we were drinking every day in the studio. This n**ga was coming in with a gallon, you know, the milk gallons? He poured the milk out, half gin, half orange juice,” Snoop, now 52, said with a laugh.

Dre jumped in, recalling their younger days: “We [were] in our 20s, man.” Snoop continued, “It just was our drink.”

Reflecting on their new venture, Dre noted, “It’s incredible to know that you got something that’s amazing, that you feel is gonna really work. The look of the can, the taste of it, it’s all there. The only thing we have to do is not fuck up. This is not a liquor that we’re just putting our name on at all. It’s just like the headphones… like Beats. Everything was just us from [the] ground up.”
