Hundreds of protesters are reportedly participating in a rally in Philadelphia on Monday (Nov. 13) in support of Meek Mill, who was recently sentenced to two to four years in prison over a probation violation. The rally, which began at Philadelphia's Criminal Justice Center at 5 p.m. today, is speaking up against Meek's harsh punishment and the unfair justice system. 

In video footage taken at the scene, protesters are heard screaming, "Free Meek Mill" and "F**k that judge," which is referring to federal judge Genece Brinkley, who has been accused of ruling with bias against the rapper. Meek's lawyer, Joe Tacopina, is reportedly asking for her to be recused from his client's case. Fans were also captured reciting the words to Meek's "Dreams and Nightmares" track. 

A number of activists and music artists are reportedly supposed to make an appearance at the rally, including MMG mogul Rick Ross, singer Justin Skye and North Philly native Freeway. Philadelphia Eagles players Malcolm Jenkins and Viny Curry are also supposed to be in attendance, as well as the deputy director of the ACLU’s Campaign for Smart Justice, Bill Cobb, and Keir Bradford-Grey, chief defender of the Defender Association of Philadelphia. 

The event comes shortly after Governor Tom Wolf launched a petition in order to have Meek Mill's "unjust prison sentence remedied." The petition has already garnered more than 300,000 signatures. A number of artists, including Jay-Z, T.I., and more, have spoken out against the justice system's "heavy-handed" punishment.
