2022 NAACP Image Awards: 5 Times Jonathan Majors Made Us Swoon

The actor recently starred in Netflix’s all-Black western, "The Harder They Fall."

Actor Jonathan Majors rose to fame following his role as the quiet and quirky artist and playwright Montgomery Allen in the independent feature film  The Last Black Man in San Francisco. In 2020, he took on the role of Atticus Freeman in the critically acclaimed horror/sci-fi series Lovecraft Country.

The series, despite its success, was ultimately canceled.  However, it wasn’t long before Majors would be back on our screens, this time, as the outlaw  Nat Love in the NAACP Image Awards nominated motion picture, The Harder They Fall. At this year’s ceremony, the actor will be going up against several talented men in Black Hollywood for the title of “Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture.” However, before we gather to celebrate a night of Black excellence, check out the five times Majors made us swoon.

  • Jonathan hosts Saturday Night Live

Majors hosted the November 13 episode of SNL and started the show off with an explosive opening monologue during which he recalled being “humbled” by Idris Elba’s good looks, being a military brat, and more.

  • Jonathan reveals ten things he can’t live without

The Lovecraft Country star had fans raving following his appearance on GQ’s My Essentials. The actor shared ten things he couldn’t live without during the online segment when he’s out on the road. Items included a red beanie, a handmade clay cup, a pocket knife, sunglasses, and more.

  • Jonathan takes us through his skin-care routine

A while back, a short clip of the star taking fans through his skincare routine began to make its rounds on the internet. Majors shared which products he uses to keep his melanated skin glowing.

  • Jonathan tells us his Batman story

During an interview with W magazine, Majors told the story of when his mom bought him a batman costume. As a child, the actor loved the superhero so much he wanted to be him, so much so that, one time while in a moving car, Majors said he leaped out like Batman would and survived.

  • Jonathan plays an outlaw with a unique moral compass

Majors play Nat Love, a cowboy who only robs other outlaws in The Harder They Fall. The role earned the actor an NAACP Image Awards nomination for  “Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture.” The film is also up for several awards including, “Outstanding Motion Picture” and “Outstanding Ensemble Cast in a Motion Picture.”

Watch the NAACP Image Awards on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 8/9c.
