The thirst is real... and Gilbert Arenas isn't even being coy about it when it comes to his fandom for Kobe Bryant.

The former NBA All-Star took to his Instagram account Wednesday, asking the Los Angeles Lakers to sign him to a 10-day contract just so he could see the Black Mamba's final home game on April 13 against the Utah Jazz.

"Just tried to get courtside seats to #Kobe's Last home game #smdh #SOLDOUT.....But yall know I keeps a backup plan.....as I look at the end of the lakers bench AND realize what #hibbert #metta @swaggyp1 been doing all season," Arenas said. "#WatchingKobesLastSeason in those NICE #CourtsideSeats....Buss you gotta let me be down..give ya boy a #10day from (april 3rd-13th) i'll pay for the seat."

Really, Gilbert?

After his infamous guns-in-the-locker room incident, which led to him being suspended for most of the 2009-10 season, it's crazy to think that Arenas has been relegated to an Instagram joker.

Seriously. Every time the man is in the news these days, it's for an Instagram post.

Last month, he disgustingly insulted women from Flint, amidst the city's water crisis, before deleting his Instagram account altogether.

Just a few days later, though, Arenas was back on IG, bragging about committing credit-card fraud. Real smart, Gilbert.

And incredibly, this all followed Arenas making national headlines in December for posting an Instagram shot of two scantily-clad models playing basketball, saying that's how the WNBA should look.

"NOW this is what America was hoping for when they announced the #WNBA back in 1996... not a bunch of chicks running around looking like cast members from #orangeisthenewblack," Arenas wrote, referring to the popular TV show about women in prison.

He added: "Dont get me wrong, they have few #cutiepies but theres a whole alotta #beanpies running around."

Despite getting dragged online for those controversial statements, Arenas refused to apologize to WNBA players, throwing salt in the wound further by telling TMZ, "basically all the ugly girls are mad."

Good lord.

As crazy as bringing guns into an NBA locker room was, Arenas wound up playing three more seasons in the league, even balling overseas in China from 2012-13.

But these IG antics completely overshadow the fact that Arenas was one sick player. As a three-time All-Star, Agent Zero was flat out one of the league's best shooting guards and best players, period, during his prime.

The man averaged nearly 30 points per game in back-to-back seasons from 2005-07.

This is a guy who hung 60 points on Kobe in a Washington Wizards overtime win over the Lakers back in December 2006. (Bryant had 45 points in the same game.)

This is a guy who gave LeBron James buckets back in the 2006 playoffs, averaging 34 points per game, as his Wizards fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a bruising six-game series.

This is a guy who would set nets on fire... thus his self-given "Hibachi" nickname.

It's a damn shame that the name Gilbert Arenas is reduced to an IG joker these days. 

And what's crazy? He's only 34.

Use your good years better, man.
