Turk Blasts Cash Money for Lack of Support
Former Hot Boys member Turk isn't feeling the love from his Cash Money Records family. He lashed out his ex crew — including Lil Wayne, Juvenile and label CEOs Birdman and "Ronald "Slim Williams" — via a video he recently posted to YouTube.
"I just wanna make this real quick," the Louisiana rapper born Tab Virgil Jr., said in the two-minute recording. "Baby, Slim, Wayne, Mannie Fresh, all you n----s who claim ya'll my homeboys … I been reaching out to ya'll n---s, nobody respond[ed]."
His Cash Money beef stems from the death of his father, Tab Virgil Sr., 52, who was killed in a hit-and-run accident last Wednesday (Oct 30). Virgil Sr. was crossing a road, steps from his New Orleans home, when he was struck by an as yet unidentified suspect.
Just under a month ago, Turk and the Hoy Boys reunited for a 2 Chainz video shoot. Since the tragedy however, Turk said he hasn't been able to get his onetime rap click on the phone, adding, "Ya'll showed me on too many occasions, but right now this the last straw."
Aside from airing out his grievances, Turk also did some promotion, instagramming a flyer for a show Thursday (Nov. 7), the same day as his father's funeral. "My daddy was a good person," he told NOLA.com. "He was always happy, always making you laugh. Everyone around uptown knew him. He never bothered anybody. He'll be missed by our family and the community of New Orleans."
Proceeds from Turk's live performance will go to cover funeral expenses.
