Fifth Harmony’s ‘Work From Home’ Single Spiked On Music Charts Thanks To The Coronavirus Outbreak

Fans are already calling it the anthem of 2020.

Thousands of people in the U.S. have opted to remain confined to their homes as the federal government tackles a response to the COVID-19 pandemic (commonly referred to as the novel coronavirus) that is sweeping the nation.

  • Thanks to a slowdown in work, people have been finding creative ways to keep their spirits up in the face of the pandemic. Disco legend Gloria Gaynor brought us some entertainment this Friday morning (March 13) after she dropped a hilarious PSA on the newly-popular, video-sharing platform TikTok reminding everyone to be mindful of[washing their hands amid the coronavirus outbreak while singing her classic song, "I Will Survive."

  • In the flux of more people being allowed to work from home, another song is getting some love. PEOPLE noted that pop-R&B girl group Fifth Harmony’s smash hit, “Work From Home” is climbing up iTunes’ charts due to social media being spammed with memes about working from home. According to the entertainment publication, the song jumped up by more than 250 spots in one day.

“Fifth Harmony wrote ‘Work From Home’ about the coronavirus,” one fan joked on Twitter.

“When fifth harmony said ‘we can work from home,’ the coronavirus felt that,” a second chimed in.

“Fifth Harmony’s “Work From Home” bout to be the anthem all 2020,” a third predicated.
