Ayvani Perez, 14, who was abducted early Tuesday morning during a home invasion, was found alive about 25 miles from her house in Ellenwood, Georgia. But police say Perez's mother and one of the suspects have past ties, as they were both part of a group arrested during a drug bust in 2012.

Maria Corral and Juan Alberto Contreras-Rodriguez were two of five people arrested and charged with trafficking 500 pounds of marijuana in Henry County, Georgia, according to CNN. Charges were later dropped, but in finding this connection, authorities began to uncover a possible motive behind Perez's abduction. 
Corral told police two men invaded her home demanding money and jewelry. When the family failed to give them these items, they took Ayvani instead. These two suspects are still at large. Police arrested two other suspects, Contreras-Rodriguez and Wildrego Jackson, connected to the abduction on Wednesday.

Investigators are still uncovering details in the incident.
