Laurence Fishburne Leaving CSI \r
The actor opts out after two and a half seasons.
After two and a half seasons, Laurence Fishburne is leaving the CBS procedural drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor chose not to renew his contract. In 2008, Fishburne was cast in the series to replace William Peterson, who left the show that same year.
Unfortunately, since Peterson’s departure from the show, which had been top-rated, dropped in the ratings and posted it's lowest-rated season finale ever last month.
When Fishburne last renewed his deal to stay on CSI, the contract covered only the 2010-11 season.
Earlier this year, Fishburne played Thurgood Marshall in the HBO film version of the one-man play Thurgood.
