Did Allen West Lose Media Gig Over Politically Incorrect Statement?
Allen West is out as programming director for NextGeneration.TV, effective Oct. 1. The infamously bombastic former congressman says he wants to pursue political interests, which is true, but not the whole story.
According to a BuzzFeed report, West, in an argument with a female employee, called her a "Jewish American princess" and told her to "shut up." West acknowledged that there had been an "exchange," but denied he'd been fired.
"I’m leaving to pursue political aspirations. That’s it," he said.
In an email to staff and consultants, he said he also would focus on his Allen West Guardian Fund PAC to support conservative candidates in 2014.
The alleged incident isn't West's first un-PC "exchange" with a female colleague. In a scathing e-mail sent in 2011, West told Florida congresswoman and Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz that she was "vile, unprofessional and despicable" and not a "lady."
