Pop singer Kesha's recent legal battles have sparked all sorts of critical and cultural conversations, over the course of the past couple of months, ranging from topics within sexism the music industry to feminism in general. 

As reported, the latest update is that Kesha is claiming she was offered her freedom from her exclusive recording contract with Dr. Luke and Sony if and only if she retracted her allegations of rape and publicly apologized.

Captioning a solemn selfie with an emotional and angry caption, the singer wrote, "I got offered my freedom IF I were to lie," she wrote. I would have to APOLOGIZE publicly and say that I never got raped. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS behind closed doors.”

"I will not take back the TRUTH," her post continued. "I would rather let the truth ruin my career than lie for a monster ever again.

Dr. Luke's camp had quite a bit to say in response to her latest update on social media, providing a lengthy statement to Rolling Stone.

"The Court repeatedly stated Kesha is already free to record without Dr. Luke, and that she had not presented any facts supporting her claims. That's because all the evidence - including Kesha's own videotaped sworn testimony - show her allegations are false," Dr. Luke's spokesperson shared in a statement in response to Kesha's latest comment on the case, as obtained by Rolling Stone.

"The only thing Kesha is not free to do is to continue to lie about Dr. Luke through publicity stunts and outrageous smears, ignoring the fact that by her own free will she went to work and entered into new contracts with Dr. Luke years after this 'incident' supposedly happened," the statement from Dr. Luke continued. "Her goal all along has been solely personal enrichment by seeking to break contracts that brought her success and millions so she can enter into more lucrative ones. We look forward to our day in court holding Kesha accountable for her lies."

Since filing her lawsuit back in 2014, she has receievd support from many celebrities, including Zendaya and Ariana Grande. Back in February of this year, a judge denied her request for an injunction and she was not allowed to be released from her current contract. 

Unfortunately, it appears as though Kesha's battle continues to wage intensely uphill.
