They say looking good is always the best revenge — and it seems like Tamar Braxton wanted to test that theory out for herself.

Despite being in the middle of a very public breakup, Tamar made a fiery red carpet debut at last night's taping of the Soul Train Awards, airing on BET on Sunday, November 26 at 8P/7C.

But it wasn't the lack of her wedding ring that had everyone talking, it was her hot new look. See for yourself below: 

The 40 year-old singer looked smoking in a shimmering, floor-length gown that hugged all of her curves and showed off her super-toned back. 

While Tamar is not afraid of trying something new, we haven't seen her rock red hair in quite some time. Her bold strawberry blonde 'do was perfectly accented with barrel curls and subdued, bronzy makeup. 

We're happy to see her back on the scene (and in good health)!
