Drake Has Dropped A Pretty Penny To Help Hurricane Harvey Victims
In light of the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, more and more of Hollywood's elite are making attempts to aide those in dire need. And the latest celebrity to step up to the plate is Toronto's own Drake.
On Thursday morning (Aug. 31), Drizzy officially tossed his name into the ring and announced via social media that he would donate $200,000 towards Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
The OVO frontman's lofty donation will go through Houston Texans star J.J. Watt's YOUCARING foundation. "To the resilient people of Houston and the entire state of Texas, I would like to send you all of our love and all of our prayers," begins Drake's Instagram video posted earlier today.
"To the brave men and women that have assisted in aide, relief, and rescue, your actions are truly heroic," he continues. "My good friend J.J. Watt started a fundraising effort through YOUCARING and I've donated $200,000 towards it."
But the "Signs" rapper's philanthropy doesn't end there. In an effort to rake up more contributions to the Watt’s fundraiser, which has earned over $10 million at this point, Drizzy left the link to the website in his Instagram bio.
