Wait, Is Beyoncé Dropping An Album On Netflix?
If in some movie-less, parallel world in which you aren’t a Netflix subscriber (or, at least signed onto the account of someone who is), Beyoncé is reportedly about to change that. And soon.
According to The Sun, Queen Bey is following in the footsteps of her visually-groundbreaking, Grammy-nominated sixth studio album, Lemonade, by presenting her seventh solo album for not only our ears, but our eyes as well, courtesy of Netflix.
The Sun reports that Bey has been keeping the reported deal under wraps for now, along with her filming for the project
Rumors that she’d been eyeing Rome’s Colosseum, a.k.a. the Flavian Ampitheatre, for their next visual undertaking might hold some weight after all amid The Sun’s reports. The site explains that Bey is planning to shoot at the anciently palatial ruins of the Roman monument. In the usual vain of the Queen Bey, alleged sources added she’s zeroed in on the album’s architecture from its visual appeal to its sonic quality.
‘She wants it to be even more ground-breaking and visually impressive than Lemonade, which is why she is scouting out location which will really wow people,’ the source allegedly revealed
The source added, The Sun reports, that her team has been working out negotiations with the folks over at Netflix for the album’s premiere. In fact, Lemonade was supposed to have a similar rollout with the movie-streaming digital giant, but the plan fell through due to contractual obligations with HBO and TIDAL, the site elaborates. They’re “willing to pay through the roof this time,” though, the source allegedly continued, especially considering Bey’s mega-star power and the vast audience the album will procure.
There’s no other word on details of the album just yet
Unfortunately for the anxious BeyHive, the source didn’t speak to a title, track list, features nor any other makings of a Queen Bey album production. But, now that we at least know she’s got more tunes coming our way, get an early feel for where the Queen Bey might be taking the project’s visual elements with a throwback to her 2004 Pepsi commercial, filmed at the Roman Colosseum, below.
