'The Oval' Recap: Victoria Finally Starts To Show Signs Of Fear
Last week’s episode of "Tyler Perry’s The Oval" ended with another bad decision on Nancy’s part. Basically, she went to an abandoned warehouse with a crap ton of money looking for Barry, who was presumably kidnapped for ransom. Sam told her to stay home and that he would check it out. Obviously, that didn’t happen.
Let’s cut to the chase. This week’s episode of The Oval picks up with Sam finding Nancy passed out in front of a chair with a badly battered man sitting in it, tied up, either unconscious or dead. Richard arrives by the time the police have been there and everyone is distraught because they think it’s Barry, for real. Eventually, it’s officially confirmed that Barry is dead, DNA test, autopsy, and all.
Simone comes face to face with Eli again and she tries really hard to pretend that everything is cool. She does such a good job that Eli lays it on thick. He tells her that she’s the only girl in the world and that he’d never cheat on her. You know how that goes, he laid it on thick like Gorilla Glue but so does Simone and it seems to be working. They’re playing each other for now.
Next, we find Hunter visiting Victoria in the infirmary. Hunter is still in a wheelchair and can’t walk but that won’t stop him from verbally abusing Victoria, who is at first pretending to be asleep. Eventually, she wakes up when he raises his hand like he’s going to hit her. They banter back and forth for a bit and the gist is that Hunter demands to know exactly what Victoria did to him. Victoria denies she did anything.
Hunter tells Victoria that he has been talking to Jason and Gayle and that they plan to sing like robins to bring her down. Victoria says she won’t be going down alone or without a fight, but she is starting to sweat for once.
The episode winds down with Sam taking a blindfolded reporter to an undisclosed location. He sits her down, removes the blindfold, and eventually, Jason comes out, to the reporter’s surprise, because the public still thinks that Jason is dead. Jason asks for protection from his parents, but how should a reporter do that?
Erm, hold that thought because the episode ends with Priscilla catching Kyle rummaging through Hunter’s bathroom cabinets. Donald asked him to find that medicine that keeps Hunter paralyzed, presumably so they can start using it again, but Kyle better think fast because he’s busted, and that’s where we end things this week.
