Throwback! Nintendo Launches a Mini Version of NES

Ready to get your Mario Bros. and Zelda on?

Thanks to folks losing their minds over Pokeman Go, Nintendo continues to play off that nostalgic feeling by announcing on Twitter that they are launching a miniature version of their classic NES system.

According to Wired, the system, “Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition,” will debut right in time for Christmas on November 11 and will include 30 of the gaming company’s most popular classic games such as Mario, Zelda and our personal fave, Bubble Bobble.

Even better: It will only cost you $59.99 with an extra controller costing a mere $9.99.

It's a perfect gift for those on a tighter budget.

Granted it’s been over 30 years since the original system debuted in 1984, but this relaunching comes at a perfect time given that the company’s stock has risen over 50 percent since Pokeman Go was released. It's clear that folks are here for taking a walk down memory lane, especially the older millennials or gen x'ers who need a break from adulting.

And the Twitter response to this news has been pretty lit so far with over 37,000 likes and 29,000 retweets of Nintendo's original announcement. One person wrote, "I'm throwing my money at this," while another wrote, "That's the sickest thing I've seen in a while."

The only complaint we have is that Duck Hunt isn’t included. But oh well, it's still totally worth it!

What is your favorite classic NES game?
