Derrick Rose Faces Lawsuit for Allegedly Drugging and Gang Raping Woman

NBA star's lawyer says case is nothing but money grab attempt.

Derrick Rose has been hit with a lawsuit by a woman claiming the NBA star and two of his friends drugged and gang raped her.

Meanwhile, the lawyer of the Chicago Bulls point guard says the lawsuit is nothing more than a messy shakedown.

TMZ Sports is reporting that the woman, identified as Jane Doe, says she and Rose dated from 2011 to 2013 and in August 2013, the point guard and his two friends, Ryan Allen and Randall Hampton (Rose's manager), invited her to Rose's Beverly Hills house. Once there, the woman claims they slipped a drug into her drink with the intention to rape her.

She says she was able to leave the house with her friend, but later that night, Rose and his pals broke into her apartment and gang raped her while she was still in a daze. The woman claims to only remember "flashes" of the incident, but distinctly does remember being forcibly raped. She adds that she was "ashamed and embarrassed" and that's why she waited two years to file the lawsuit.

Rose's attorney Lisa Cohen told TMZ the woman, who filed the lawsuit, has repeatedly tried to squeeze the NBA star for money and that the lawsuit is nothing more than "an attempt to shake down a highly-respected and successful athlete."

Cohen adds the woman and the Bulls star were in a "non-exclusive, consensual sexual relationship for over two years" and that this is the third attorney the plaintiff hired to sue Rose in attempt to land cash.

"We have complete confidence that the case will be dismissed and that Mr. Rose will be vindicated," Cohen said. "This lawsuit is outrageous."

Rose was named the NBA's MVP in 2011 and is a three-time All-Star.
