WTF Is Going On With Xscape?
Xscape literally just got back together, but the group’s recent interview on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live this past weekend (Nov. 12) has some of their fans worried a breakup is soon coming. During their latest interview, host Andy Cohen asked the ladies about their relationship with Jermaine Dupri. And let’s just say Kandi Burruss and Tamika Scott have some major tension between them.
Things got pretty awkward when Cohen pressed Scott about the rumor she started, which alleged Kandi and Dupri previously had a romantic relationship. When asked if she regretted what she said, Scott replied no. While Kandi admitted that rumor was true, she then accused Tamika of also stating that she had a relationship with Dupri’s father, which is reportedly false.
A lot of fans quickly began buzzing on social media about the awkward exchange. Tamika quickly responded in a message on Instagram on Nov. 14, explaining where the group stands. “Me and the girls visited Watch What Happens Live, with @bravoandy this past Sunday and we got a lot of slack from the interview,” Tamika stated. “We, Xscape, as a group are definitely working hard to give our fans an ultimate night to Remember performance for our Great Xscape Tour, with all Four original members @kandi @majorgirl @iamlatocha@therealtamikascott! As dysfunctional as we look behind the scenes, we are working as mature women to rebuild our friendship/and working relationships."
She continued, “Yes, things take time and we are making sure to give it just that. Nothing happens over night. To our real fans that believes in us Thank You! To the judgemental few of you, keep your pointless penny thoughts to yourselves. Just Know that God Brought this back together and he is in CONTROL. We will not disappoint you!! Thank you!!! God Bless!!!”
Despite the little drama, Xscape is currently gearing up for the Great Xscape Tour, featuring Monica, Tamar Braxton, Zonnique and June’s Diary. The tour will reportedly kick off on Nov. 22 and conclude next year in Jan. 2018.
