Pete Davidson Jokes About Kanye West And Chris Rock In Stand-Up Return
For the first time in three years, Pete Davidson took the stage to perform stand-up and he didn’t waste any time covering recent events in the headlines during his set.
The Saturday Night Live actor took to the stage to perform Thursday (Apr. 28) for the first night of Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival at the Hollywood Bowl and opened his set with jokes about Kanye West telling him that Davidson had AIDS and that he believed West because he’s a genius. He also joked that being humiliated is weird when you can’t do anything about it.
Davidson is currently the girlfriend of Kim Kardashian, ‘Ye’s estranged wife and mother of their four children. He had been receiving disses from the rapper via social media and even on his new music video for “Eazy.” Also during his set, the comedian recalled going to a basketball game last December with Chris Rock and Jon Stewart, noting that’s what he calls “before time.”
"Before life was over," he added, noting that he and Rock had terrible things happen to them in the following months. For Rock, it was the now-infamous slap from Will Smith at the 2022 Oscars.
Davidson has not appeared in the last two episodes of SNL as he’s been focusing on his most recent comedy performances.
