Bill's LeSean McCoy Investigated Over Alleged Assault of Off-Duty Cops
LeSean McCoy probably never imagined a return trip to Philadelphia unfolding like this.
The Buffalo Bills running back, and former Philadelphia Eagles star, is being investigated by Philadelphia police over allegedly being involved in an assault that left two off-duty police officers injured, as reported by ESPN.
Intensifying the alleged incident is a video released by TMZ from the early-Sunday morning incident at Philly's Recess Lounge, and Philadelphia police officers believe to have spotted the running back in the footage.
"We believe the man in the red boxers who gets pulled into the ice bucket is LeSean McCoy," a source with the Philadelphia police department told the celebrity news website.
The two off-duty cops, who ESPN reports are both 40-year-old Black men, were injured in the scuffle with four Black men, ages 26 through 30, at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday, and one of the people involved is believed to be McCoy.
According to TMZ, Meek Mill was also at the lounge, but not involved at all. Still, police want to speak with him about what he might have seen with the incident.
In the footage obtained by TMZ, one can see a melee breaking out and the person shooting the video told the celebrity website that McCoy was "rowdy."
Cops additionally told TMZ that the fight was over a Champagne bottle.
The two off-duty cops were hospitalized and while no arrests have been made, McCoy is being considered as a suspect for now.
