Robin Thicke Pens Letter After His Father Passes Away at 69
Tuesday (Dec. 13) was a very sad day for Hollywood as Alan Thicke, the father of R&B musician Robin Thicke and one of television’s most adored actors, passed away at the age of 69.
The Los Angeles Times reports that his death was confirmed by Robin’s publicist, who said he died of a heart attack as he was playing hockey with his 19-year-old son, Carter. The “Lost Without You” soul crooner said that despite his father’s fatality, he was a beloved man who had closure, The Times reports. He had also been with him a few days prior to the death, and expressed his fond admiration of the “Growing Pains” actor.
Continuing to honor his father’s legacy, Thicke penned a letter on Instagram for the late Alan Thicke, dubbing him the greatest man he ever knew.
"He was the best man I ever knew. The best friend I ever had," he wrote. "Let’s all rejoice and celebrate the joy he brought to every room he was in."
While there are no further details released on the death of the iconic television actor and musician, TMZ reports that he may be an organ donor following the fatality.
Many prayers to the Thicke family and friends during this difficult time.
