Hit-Boy and James Fauntleroy Flip a ‘90s Classic on ‘That’s What I Get’
Hit-Boy spits love lessons with a hint of ‘90s nostalgia on “That’s What I Get,” featuring Grammy-Award winning singer/songwriter James Fauntleroy.
The rapper’s new joint samples Shanice’s breakout single, “I Love Your Smile,” and it’s not as squeaky clean as the original. On “That’s What I Get,” Hit-Boy has a habit of “falling in love with bad bitches” from New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta, while Fauntleroy serves up some classic R&B vocals (and a nod to Bel Biv Devoe’s "Poison").
His fresh take on the throwback record sounds so good, Shanice even loved it.
