Ludacris Plots ‘Ludaversal’ Takeover

The ATL rapper promises to “wake up” doubters with next album.

On his last album Battle of the Sexes hip hop star Ludacris tackled the never-ending clash between men and women. Now the witty wordsmith is back in the studio preparing his eighth studio album, the more universally appealing, Ludaversal.

The ATL representative told allhiphop.com that the album, like its title, will be out of this world.

“When you hear the album you’ll know,” Ludacris said. “People can expect me to take it to a level they know I’m capable of. If anybody has doubts, I have no problem continuing to prove myself. And I have no problem slapping the ones who’re sleeping, to make them wake up. It’s about consistency.”

Luda will take a break from his acting career to record the album now that promotion for the film “Fast Five,” his latest acting gig, is complete. The fifth installment of the blockbuster “Fast and the Furious” saga features an star-studded cast including Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Ludacris, Tyrese and professional wrestler-turned-action star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The film debuts in theaters on Friday [April 29].

Ludaversal is due in stores in early 2012.
