One Thing to Remember During Kanye's Troubling Time
As artists and fans alike are reacting to the news that Kanye West has been hospitalized, one thing to keep in mind is that the month of November is a particularly trying time for him.
While the upcoming holiday season is inevitably a source of stress for many of us, the holidays also trigger all sorts of difficult emotions for those of us who have lost a parent or family member, much like Ye has.
November 10, 2007, changed Ye's world forever, with the passing of his beloved mother, Donda West. Factoring in that the anniversary of her funeral was only two days ago, on November 20, West likely is carrying a heavy heart this week, on top of everything else that he is dealing with.
Additionally, West recently drew attention to the fact that him and Jay Z's relationship isn't what it used to be, and considering Hov and Beyoncé were by his side nine years ago when he buried his mother in tears, it's no wonder that he reportedly just wants to be surrounded by his family and loved ones.
West has incorporated his mother's memory into his art and music countless times over the years, including paying tribute during his recent Saint Pablo Tour. Back in September, West broke down in tears when he noticed a fan was wearing a T-shirt honoring his late mother. West ended up serenading the fan, creating what was both a beautiful and memorable moment for those in attendance.
Factoring in that this month marks the anniversary of West burying his mother, there is no question that November is especially emotionally burdensome for him. We can only hope that he is getting the help, love and support he needs during this difficult time.
