La Toya Jackson Says Michael Forgave Her Accusations
La Toya Jackson sat down with Access Hollywood Live host Kit Hoover and guest co-host Debbie Gibson on Tuesday's show to talk about her new book "Starting Over." In it, she details how her ex-husband and then manager, Jack Gordon, forced her to accuse her brother, Michael, of maintaining inappropriate relations with children during the 1993 allegations. But she said her brother knew the comments weren't truly coming from her.
"He says, 'La Toya, I know what you’re gonna say. You don’t have to. I know you; I know your heart. I know you would never ever do anything to hurt me,'" La Toya says of her conversation with the late King of Pop. "He said, 'I know he had you do that. I know he had you do Playboy.'"
She also blames her posing for Playboy in 1989 on Gordon and says her brothers were concerned about the abusive relationship.
"Michael would call me and say, 'You've gotta get away from him, he’s gonna kill you!'" she says. "He knew it wasn't me. He knew someone was forcing me, making me do that."
Fortunately, the two were able to talk it all over before Michael's passing two years ago and remained close throughout the years.
"We were best friends," she says.
