Kenan Thompson Wants To Stay On Saturday Night Live At least Until It’s 50th Season

The star has been with the sketch-comedy series since 2003.

While the best Saturday Night Live regulars are making their departures, OG player Kenan Thompson is ceasing any noise or speculation that he is following suit.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight on the carpet at the Apollo Spring Benefit, the Kenan and Kel alum told the publication he doesn’t plan on leaving the franchise and is hoping to be around for it’s 50th season.

"I mean, not that I know of," Thompson shared.

"I know we at least trying to get to the 50th, 'cause that's gonna be a special year, you know what I mean? And then after that, it's like, I don't know exactly how long I can do it."

If you ever wondered what keeps Thompson continuing to clock-in each season, he shares it’s because they ask him to.

“What keeps me coming back is them asking me to come back," he explained. "If I felt like I was overstaying my welcome, or unwanted, then I would like to show myself the door, but yeah, it's also a one-of-a-kind place.”

The show is currently heading into it’s 47th season, which means Thompson would need to stay with the show for three more seasons.
