Jonah Hill on The Sitter : "It's Hardcore, Messed Up and Crazy"
The new comedy The Sitter is all about a babysitting job that goes horribly wrong, and the film’s star Jonah Hill, who in the past has shared screen time with such hip funny men like Russell Brand and Seth Rogan, says his littlest co-stars contributed to some of the movie’s biggest laughs.
“I loved working with kids — the actors themselves were great. They were so good,” Hill told BET.com. “They had funny improvisations, their minds are just more bizarre.”
But maybe his children co-stars were too good. Hill admits that he’d love to be a dad one day in real life but that “this film doesn’t make me want to have kids. Because they’re insane.”
And for those who think The Sitter, which also stars JB Smoove and Method Man has strong similarities to 1987's Adventures in Babysitting, Hill says the homage was deliberate. “That film was definitely an influence for us. We wanted to make the most hardcore, messed up crazy R-rated version of that [movie].”
The Sitter opens in theaters nationwide today.
