Kelly Rowland Calls Instagrammer Posing As Her ‘Fake AF’
No one will be making bank off of Kelly Rowland’s name anytime soon.
Last week, the singer-actress was made privy to an Instagram account under the username @iam.kellyrowland, who pretended to be her and asked fans for money in their DMs.
In a screenshot shared by the “Motivation” singer to her Instagram Stories, the impersonator posed as Rowland, as though they were performing in the message recipient’s city.
“Hey this is Kelly from Destiny's Child, I lost my credit card and I need money for a plain [sic] ticket so I can fly to your city to perform,” the message read.
Rowland’s longtime friend and fellow Destiny’s Child member also ‘entered’ the chat.
“Can you send me some money? I'll bring Beyoncé,” the message continued, before the impersonator added, “Hello this is Beyoncé,” as if the 32-time Grammy winner was financially strapped.
Rowland’s message was simple. “FAKE AF!!" she wrote over the screenshot. “Be careful out here!” the “Mea Culpa” star added. “And don't you think I know how to spell P-L-A-N-E!”
The 4-time Grammy winner has been preoccupied with her husband, Tim Weatherspoon, and their sons, Titan, 10, and Noah, 3. On Friday, January 3, Rowland posted a holiday recap of her family, writing that she’s “grateful” to “come home to this love.”
