Y.G. Explains DJ Mustard, Mistah F.A.B. Fight
The skirmish between Mistah F.A.B. and DJ Mustard at a show in San Francisco a couple weeks ago was music related, according to Y.G.
What led up to the scuffle was F.A.B. accusing Mustard of stealing his production sound from the Bay Area. "The Mistah Fab n---a, he say the homey stole the Bay sound. He say Mustard took the Bay sound," Y.G. told MTV News at Atlanta's annual Birthday Party concert over the weekend. "He feel like that, okay; we don't feel like that. Mustard don't feel like that."
Y.G. sides with Mustard on this one. He doesn't notice any similarities in the music sound, especially on My Krazy Life, his debut. "My album don’t sound like the Bay," he said. "Every time somebody speak on my album they say it remind them of [Snoop Dogg's] Doggystyle, Eazy-E, DJ Quik. It remind them of that."
The Compton native counts Bay Area rappers E-40 and Mac Dre as two of his influences, and based on the support that he and Mustard have gotten from the Bay, Y.G. doesn't believe the entire area feels like F.A.B. "Their city f--k with us when we come out there," continued the "Who Do You Love?" rapper. "I think he [F.A.B.] feels that."
Although F.A.B. downplayed his altercation with Mustard, video footage later surfaced showing that he received a good portion of the blows.
