Close-Up: Kanye’s Air Yeezy IIs

Check out Kanye’s new kicks, reportedly due in stores March 23, 2012.

The rumors that Kanye West will team up with Nike to produce a second pair of Air Yeezys might have some legs: Air Mag posted a detailed picture of what’s expected to be the Air Yeezy IIs, and according to GlobalGrind.com, the sneakers are reportedly scheduled to hit shelves March 23, 2012.
The hype and speculation over Air Yeezy IIs has been buzzing all year, with Kanye wearing the rumored sneakers in “The Black Mamba” video, during the entire run of the Watch the Throne Tour with leather kilts and on the runway at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show. A closer look at the sneakers shows them in a black, pink and mint green color, although the shoes are expected to be featured in three different colors—like the original Air Yeezys—when they eventually hit the public market. The kicks feature a premium croc skin upper with a suede mid-foot strap. Nike has not made an official statement on the shoes.
Kanye’s 2009 Air Yeezys were one of the brand's most sought-after shoes that year. They were originally released in limited quantity for $220 but, due to demand, fans started scooping them off the Internet for over $1,000, and some unlucky buyers were duped with pricy knockoffs. The Yeezy IIs will certainly cause a similar frenzy when they finally do drop (and hopefully they’re not severely delayed like the rapper’s first clothing line).
