Offset Reflects on Rebuilding Trust with Cardi B After Cheating Scandal, Stresses the Significance of 'Communication'
Offset stopped by the "Call Her Daddy" podcast to talk about what it's been like to rebuild trust with his wife, Cardi B, after the cheating scandal a few years ago.
In 2017, merely two months after Offset proposed to the Bronx rapper, a video emerged, allegedly showing Offset with another woman in a hotel. The Migos rapper purportedly asserted that his iCloud had been compromised. Shortly thereafter, a model named Celine Powell stated that she was expecting Offset's child.
In the podcast episode, Offset said it started with him respecting her position. "We're both public figures; we're both in the eyes of people. Stop being selfish. You're married to this woman; be dedicated to this woman. And also, just like being more communicative about s—," he said.
Expanding on his point, he added, "Like, we just talk more and, because, you know, work was getting in the way, sometimes and it was like, [phew] and we would talk all the time but communication is key. If you don't like some s—, tell me, and if I don't like some s—, I'll tell you. We talk and communication is key. Not communicating f—s s— up." Offset admitted that he knows it will take time because what he did was selfish it's okay if Cardi chooses to be selfish. "Luckily, I have a very loyal one."
During the sit-down interview, the Atlanta artist opened up to the podcast host Alex Cooper about his childhood, his rise to fame with Migos, and his career "I made it" moment that happened from jail.
Cooper has interviewed celebs such as Ciara, Post Malone, and Janelle Monae.
