Verdict Is In for the Killer of a Sneaker Store Owner

The 2015 murder case finally comes to a close.

In 2015, a 24-year-old sneaker store owner was tragically beaten to death while inside his own business in Tallahassee, Florida.

As reported by the Tallahassee Democrat, justice has finally been served and the suspect, Antowan Hawkins, has been found guilty of first-degree murder, robbery, arson, tampering with physical evidence and grand theft auto.

Aaron Goodwin was found dead in his boutique, Exclusive Heat, last May, the same morning that police discovered his car had been set on fire.

As reported, Hawkins was arrested in July when he was caught attempting to sell sneakers stolen from the store. He was believed to have committed the murder on his own but two others are facing charges for helping him dispose of the car.

Additionally, prosecutors were seeking the death penalty as punishment but the jury decided on a sentence of life in prison without parole.
