Chicago City Officials Swarmed R. Kelly’s Studio After Unidentified Man Was Spotted Removing A Computer From Premises

The disgraced R&B singer appears to be under some kind of investigation.

Exactly one week after Lifetime aired its now infamous Surviving R. Kelly docu-series, official investigations into the disgraced crooner and his associates are underway.

Chicago City officials searched the premises of R. Kelly's West Side Chicago studio that was said to be a holding place for women the singer held against their will throughout the docu-series.

According to The Blast, a Cook County judge granted permission for the premises to be searched after attorneys for the city of Chicago filed motions accusing the singer of using the "industrial property" for a music studio and residence.

  • Before the inspection of the property officially began, news reporters noticed a man leaving the studio with a computer. The unidentified man refused to answer questions about what he was doing and whose behalf he was working on.

  • R. Kelly isn't the only one in his camp experiencing legal trouble. His former manager James Mason,is allegedly planning to turn himself in for making "terroistic threats and acts" against the family of alleged R. Kelly sex cult member Joycelyn Savage.

The Savage family also accused another Kelly affiliate, Don Russell, of making terroristic threats. Russell is currently being investigated by the NYPD for allegedly calling in a threat during Lifetime's December 2018 screening of the docu-series.

Official details on what may have been found in the studio have yet to be released.
