Usher Chooses Not to Serenade Gabrielle Union After Noticing Dwyane Wade
Even Usher knows there are limits.
The R&B crooner started night one of his residency at La Seine Musicale in Boulogne-Billancourt, France. While performing, he spotted actress Gabrielle Union in the audience. However, unlike his usual performances, Usher refrained from serenading the "Bring It On" star.
In a clip making its way around the internet, Usher approaches Union, who’d been in attendance with her husband and former NBA star Dwyane Wade. Nevertheless, he quickly addresses the audience, saying, “Y’all, let’s not get carried away.”
He jokingly added, “This is Dwyane Wade — I ain’t crazy! That man will knock my whole head off and then dunk it!”
The retired NBA star shared the video to his Instagram Story, tagging Usher and captioning it, “Love and Respect [crown emoji].”
The “Confessions” crooner’s two-week, four-show French residency comes amid news that he’ll be headlining the 2024 Super Bowl.
“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before,” the 44-year-old veteran entertainer said in a statement. “Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”
