Frank Ocean Named GQ "Rookie of the Year"
It's been a banner year for 24-year-old, neo-R&B crooner Frank Ocean. First he rode the lightning bolt known as Cali-based hip hop collective Odd Future, then he dropped one of the year's most talked about mixtapes in Nostalgia, Ultra, and later he was tapped for an coveted appearance on Jay-Z and Kanye West's blockbuster opus, Watch the Throne. To top things off, Ocean has just been named "Rookie of the Year" in GQ magazine's annual "Men of the Year" issue.
Suited up in a black-and-white three-piece, the singer-songwriter is the subject of a profile in which he expresses enthusiasm about the number of opportunities he was presented.
“I got to grab my nuts and point my middle finger up,” Ocean says.
The December issue of GQ, which also features a profile of cover subject Jay-Z, is on stands now.
