Soul Train Awards 2022: Jazmine Sullivan’s Vocals Remain Unmatched With These Powerhouse Records
Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Jazmine Sullivan has one of the most powerful voices in the industry. She easily takes one of the top five spots on the list of modern-day powerhouse vocalists. Since making her return to the spot with the release of her 2021 EP Heaux Tales, the singer has been racking up nominations and awards one ceremony at a time. And at this year's Soul Train Awards 2022, she won "Best R&B/Soul Female Artist".
Before we find out if she’ll add any more trophies to her collection, see why Jazmine’s vocals remain unmatched with these powerhouse records.
‘Pick Up Your Feelings’
Following the release of her comeback “Lost Ones,” the singer returned with another smash hit ‘Pick Up Your Feelings,” from her Grammy Award-winning EP Haux Tales. The song also received two nominations for ‘Best R&B Song’ and ‘Best R&B Performance,’ winning the latter in a tie with "Leave the Door Open" by Silk Sonic.
‘Tragic’
Initially teased on Instagram, Jazmine brilliantly turns one of the most iconic phrases of 2021 into a smash r&b single titled “Tragic.”
Sampling Rep. Maxine Waters’ famed “Reclaiming my time” meme, the songstress reflects on a relationship that wasn’t worth her time before clowning her former lover’s performance. The visualizer on YouTube has been viewed over 1 million times.
‘Hurt Me So Good’
Jazmine’s vocal skills are insane, to say the least, on this r&b track titled “Hurt Me So Good.” In her traditional raspy rap singing, Jazmine sings about feeling trapped in her own emotions from past toxic relationships with homes to someday “find the strength [to] let go.” The song was one of the new tracks on Heaux Tales Mo' Tales: The Deluxe.
