M.I.A. Reacts to London Riots

London has a third day of turmoil.

As London experienced it's third day of violent riots, local musicians took to Twitter to voice their opinions.

"I'm going down to the riots to hand out tea and mars bars," tweeted M.I.A.

"Where the f--- are the Bullingdon boys?" Alex Kapranos, lead singer of the rock band Franz Ferdinand wrote. "What's wrong you cunts? Would you only end your holidays if it were Fortnum & Mason being looted?"

London's violence broke out in the gritty northern suburb of Tottenham on Saturday night amid community anger over a fatal police shooting of a 29-year-old father of four. Police said "copycat criminal" violence spread to other parts of the city Sunday night and early Monday, including, briefly, London's busy shopping and tourist district at Oxford Circus.

The protest over the death of Mark Duggan, who was gunned down in disputed circumstances Thursday, was initially peaceful. But it turned ugly as up to 500 people gathered around Tottenham's police station late Saturday.
