Famously, Atlanta-born hip-hop duo Outkast won the first award trophy at the inaugural ceremony in 2001.
This year, R&B star Victoria Monét joined this celebrated tradition by earning her first BET Award for "Video of the Year" and the "BET Her" award. The event was particularly special for Monét, as it was also her first time performing at the show, where she delivered captivating renditions of "On My Mama" and "Alright."

During Culture’s biggest country music star, Tanner Adell became the first female country artist to appear on the BET Awards. The singer-songwriter debuted her surprise new single “Cowboy Break My Heart” on the BET Awards Amplified Stage presented by Nissan.
Victoria Monét
Victoria Monét celebrated her first-ever wins at the BET Awards 2024, earning the prestigious "Video of the Year" award. Additionally, she was honored with the "BET Her" award, presented by the season 3 cast of College Hill: Celebrity Edition.
Monét also delivered her first-ever performance on the BET Awards stage, singing a medley of her hits, including “On My Mama” and “Alright.”
