Evelyn Lozada’s Brother-in-Law Dies
Evelyn Lozada, who is currently embroiled in a domestic abuse case with hubby Chad Johnson, is also mourning the loss of a family member.
TMZ reports that Anthony Ochoa, who was married to Lozada's sister Sylvia, died following a lengthy battle with cancer. He made several appearances on Basketball Wives and, just last month, escorted Evelyn down the aisle for her wedding to Johnson.
Reportedly, Anthony was prominently featured in the VH1 reality show about the wedding but, following Johnson’s arrest for domestic battery, VH1 decided not to air the series. His new contract with the Miami Dolphins was also terminated after his arrest.
In the latest news regarding the NFL star’s domestic abuse case, the tape of the 911 call has been released. On it, the neighbor, whose house Evelyn Lozada ran to for help, described the cut on Lozada’s head, which was “going to need stitches." The neighbor also told the dispatcher they wanted to keep the incident “as quiet as possible” for fear of a media swarm that would overtake the neighborhood.
“We don’t need the news here,” the neighbor pleaded.
In addition, TMZ reported Johnson was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence battery back in February of 2000. He pled no contest and struck a deal to avoid jail by completing 30 days of graffiti removal work. Johnson delayed his legal obligations, which weren't completed until 2002, but he never served jail time.
