Report: NFL Set to Reinstate Plaxico Burress

The ex-New York Giants receiver has been on the reserve/suspended list after serving nearly two years in prison for gun-related incident.

Plaxico Burress is a free man, and now it appears he is also free to play in the NFL again after sources confirmed reports that Commissioner Roger Goodell has reinstated the ex-New York Giants receiver.

Burress, who spent nearly two years in prison due to a gun-possession charge in New York City, had been placed on the reserve/suspended list by Goodell. But now he is free to sign with any team he wants after 6 p.m. Friday ET.

There are expected to be many suitors for his services, including his former Giants team. In fact, reports have Burress meeting with head coach Tom Couglin on Friday. A meeting is also believed to be set between Burress and Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin.

The 6-foot-5, 230 pound receiver has also expressed interest in playing with the Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets. Either way, the Plaxico tour should be real interesting.
