Meek Mill's Latest Comment About Nicki Minaj Will Have Fans Demanding Receipts...

What is the truth? *Oprah's voice*

It turns out Nicki Minaj’s industry-blasting trollster anthem of her Queen album, “Barbie Dreams,” didn’t have the negative lasting effects folks expected on the male rappers she called out after all.

Shortly after the album’s release, the Queens-raised rapper revealed that only two of them actually reached out to her: one who was noticeably vexed by the playful diss and another who even cursed her out about it. Nicki wouldn’t name any names, but that didn’t stop people from averting their eyes to her Young Money co-mate Drake and former Philly emcee flame, Meek Mill. The Barbs can now cross the latter off of their list now that he’s speaking out about the “Barbie Dreams” record for the first time with his side of the story via Variety. However, they may want to see some receipts since Meek’s latest commentary on the line stands in stark contrast to Nicki’s earlier Hot 97 remarks that he is, in fact, still in her DMs.

  • In his new Variety interview, the Philly rap major-leaguer explained that, contrary to Nicki’s ‘Barbie Dreams’ line, he actually hasn’t been sliding into her DMs

Nor has she had to duck him, he added. As was the rest of the industry, Meek, too, was blindsided by the track, but without any hard feelings about it. “I ain’t get no heads-up [about the song], but I definitely wasn’t in nobody’s DMs,” he shared with Variety. “And definitely wasn’t nobody ducking me, sh**. That’s a fact.”

  • Despite Nicki claiming on the song and to Funk Flex on Hot 97 that Meek had been dipping in her DMs post-breakup…

Meek still found it as hilarious as everyone else did and even salutes Nicki for the bars. “I actually was laughing at it, too,” he added. “‘Cause there’s no limits! I felt it and I liked it. That’s a dope rap.”

  • As for his newly reconciled relationship with another Young Money flag bearer, Drake…

Meek’s hatchet burial was far more beneficial than their rap beef ever could have been.

“Me and Drake have actually been communicating for the last year,” he said. “Even before I went to prison. It was based on the right time. We ain’t have nothing going on but a rap beef, we didn’t cause harm to each other.” “I think it took both of us going through some ups and downs, me in my career. It made me stronger. I’m moving off love right now, so it was only proper to link with someone I actually did business with before and called my friend before.”

    *Cues slow clap*
