Beyoncé Makes a Huge Announcement After Super Bowl Performance
Beyoncé predictably slayed her Super Bowl performance of her new hit "Formation," but the real fireworks came in the first commercial break immediately following the halftime show, when Bey announced her upcoming Formation World Tour.
The 40-date tour is set to begin April 27 and tickets will go on sale February 15, starting with an Amex pre-sale. Beyhive members, of course, can purchase as early as February 9. Mark your calendars and start saving your money.
According to Billboard, the tour’s 40 shows will be split fairly evenly between North America and the U.K. and Europe, with Canada and the U.S. to run through mid-June. The U.K./Europe leg will start in mid-June and run through July.
The news came seconds after Bey faced off against Bruno Mars for a high energy battle, pitting "Formation" against "Uptown Funk." The two super stars later joined headliner Coldplay for a closeout medley over clips of halftime performances of the past. Needless to say, Beyoncé was in top form, and those other guys weren't bad either.
Twitter is already speculating that a new album can't be too far behind. Let's see what else Bey drops on us before this game is over. As it is, far fewer people are paying attention to the score now.
