Alicia Keys: New Album Is 'The Best Music I've Ever Done'
Alicia Keys may be prepping for the arrival of her second bundle of joy with husband Swizz Beatz, but the working mom still has music on her mind.
"What I know for a fact is it's the best music I've ever done in my life yet and it's really exciting to be able to have this kind of growth, this type of opportunity," Keys told Billboard.
Although she didn’t share the album title, the “Girl on Fire” singer did hint that fans will get a taste of her best work to date in the near future. "The music's actually pretty much done already and so you'll be hearing some of it soon," Keys said.
She is expecting another member of the Dean clan in December, a little over two years since she released her Grammy Award-winning album Girl on Fire. With two artists for parents, baby No. 2 could very well take after his four-year-old older brother Egypt, who she said is already a “little music fanatic.”
Keys is also set to appear on The Voice as a mentor on Pharrell’s team this season before the new baby arrives.
Surprisingly, the two have not collaborated much in their impressive careers, but P is slated as a producer on this new LP and they recently worked together on the Kendrick Lamar-assisted song "It’s On Again," off of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 soundtrack. Plus Keys made an appearance on Pharrell’s G I R L for their duet “Know Who You Are.”
