Is Kelly Rowland the Newest X Factor Judge?
The X Factor is looking to shake things up next season. Kelly Rowland is reportedly in talks to join season three of the singing competition, debuting later this year.
Show producer Simon Cowell is said to be a "big fan" of the Destiny's Child alum, despite firing her from the UK version of the show. A source told the UK Daily Mail that the 32-year-old is most definitely "in the mix," to land the gig.
If hired, the Houston native will take over the open seat left by Britney Spears, who quit the show last year. "Kelly knows the 'X Factor,' she's aware of what it takes to be a judge and she's also outspoken," said a source.
Provided that Rowland is actually on board, Cowell will still have to fill L.A. Reid's position. The music industry vet walked just before Spears bailed, leaving Cowell and singer Demi Lovato all by their lonesome.
It's unclear whether or not Cowell wants a predominately female judging panel or if he will hire another male to replace Reid.
