Jennifer Lopez Dominates With New Show
Jennifer Lopez's return to the television circuit proved to definitely pay off as the triple threat's new NBC series Shades of Blue scored one of the highest premiere ratings in recent years.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the cop drama snagged the top spot in its 10:00 p.m. slot with a total viewership of 8.6 million. It became the most-watched Thursday (January 7) debut in almost seven years, trumping 32 series premieres that came before it.
The drama averaged a 1.8 rating among adults 18-49. It's worth noting that NBC has struggled with attracting a crowd for a debut in recent years at these numbers.
J. Lo isn't done dominating just yet. The 46-year-old has returned as a judge for American Idol's 15th and final season — which premiered on Wednesday, January 6 — and that didn't disappoint either. The series had a massive week, topping its time slot with both its Wednesday and Thursday episodes.
